19 weeks and posted very late!

19 Weeks!!! (and posted very late...)

"You may have already had your mid-pregnancy ultrasound (often called a Level II Ultrasound, Fetal Anatomy Survey or a Fetal Anomaly Screen) because you generally have it between 18 - 22 weeks.

They are checking out the size of your baby, the development of your baby’s stomach, urinary tract, kidneys, spine and brain. They will also measure the baby’s heart rate and look for defects in the ventricles and other heart anomalies.

The size and placement of your placenta is also on tap to make sure your placenta isn’t blocking your cervix (called placenta previa) although, even if this does turn up, 90% - 95% of the cases resolve themselves before you deliver so don’t panic. It just means it’s blocking the exit and it can get a little complicated if it doesn’t smarten up and move."

Size/Info: The babe is about 6" long, weights about 8.5 oz and is  the size of a mango, Four-toed hedgehog, a Gameboy, or a hot dog! Her brain is becoming more constructed and she is starting to sprout tiny hairs. Her body is more in proportion and is becoming covered in vernix which moisturizes the skin while being submersed in amniotic fluid.

What is new this week? No appointment this week. I had an appointment scheduled with the other midwife in my midwife's practice but she had to cancel due to en emergency. I am feeling movement everyday throughout the day and even at night when I lay back down after peeing. I keep trying to get Jason to feel it but he has yet to really feel a legit hard kick. I am always surprised when I feel her and sometime poke a bit to feel her more (but not too hard, or course!)

Symptoms: Still with the acid reflux! Ugh. I have had some really horrible leg cramps, painful gas and headaches off and on. I continue to have crazy dreams.

Food aversions: Same same.

Food cravings: Still going strong on the sugar.

Fitness: Walking and hiking. I got additional yoga videos but I have yet to do them... come on I need to get with it!

Bump: I have had my first unsolicited belly rub - it wasn't so bad.
My sweet husband in the reflection. He worked so hard to get one with out
his reflection but I picked the one with him in it :-)

Medications:

7:30am: 10mg prednisone, 40mg Lovonox injection in the belly

9am: 1 Prenatal and 2 DHA.

7:30pm: 40mg Lovonox injection in the belly

Baby Preparations: Well, we painted the nursery! We went with the darker color (Coventry Gray) and I couldn't be happier! I apparently did a horrible job taping the trim so now I need to paint that too...

I am on the hunt still for a rug and I can't decide if I want to go with a gray rug and bring in pops of color in other areas or if I want to go with a colorful rug. Here are a few of many that I am contemplating. What is your vote?

  1. I love the fact that you chose a picture with Jason's reflection, so sweet <3.. I am so so excited for y'all. For the rug.. I like the colorful one, but then you might limit your options for colored other things in the room.. so there I did not help at all :)
